Cancellation Policy at Gothenburg Hostel

At Gothenburg Hostel, we offer two booking options:

1️⃣ Refundable Booking (Standard rate)
2️⃣ Non-Refundable Booking (Discounted rate)

Cancellation Policy for Individual Bookings

Refundable Bookings (Standard Rate)

  • You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before arrival (14:00 the day before check-in).
  • If canceled later, the full amount of the first night will be charged.
  • For bookings made via online travel agencies (OTA) (e.g., Booking.com, Expedia), cancellations must be made through the same platform. We cannot process refunds for OTA bookings as commissions are handled externally.

Non-Refundable Bookings (Discounted Rate)

  • Non-refundable bookings cannot be canceled or modified.
  • If you do not show up, the full amount will be charged.

Cancellation Policy for Group Bookings

Booking Confirmation and Deposit

A group booking is only confirmed once a 10% deposit of the total amount has been paid.

Until the deposit is paid, the booking is considered provisional.

The deposit is non-refundable in case of cancellation.

Cancellation of the Entire Group

  • 30–14 days before arrival: 50% of the total amount will be charged.
  • 13–7 days before arrival: 75% of the total amount will be charged.
  • 6 days or less before arrival: 100% of the total amount will be charged.

Partial Cancellation of a Group Booking

  • 30 days to 48 hours before arrival: A free reduction of up to 15% of the group size is allowed.
  • If more than 15% of the group is canceled: 50% of the cost for the canceled guests will be charged.
  • Less than 48 hours before arrival: 100% of the cost for the canceled participants will be charged.

No-Show & Late Arrivals

  • If you do not arrive on your check-in date without prior notice, your booking remains valid for the following night(s), but please inform us so we can check you in again the next day.
  • If you have a non-refundable booking and no longer plan to stay, we appreciate knowing whether to expect you or not. While a refund is not possible, it allows us to offer the room to another guest.
